Every counter has joints. On a good one you have to be told where they are. This is a marble island from our own work, with the five places a fabricator looks first.

Six stones
Quartz and granite are not the same choice.
Four of the stones we fabricate come out of a quarry and two are made. They wear differently, so the right one depends on who cooks, who cleans and how much you mind a mark. Come and handle them at the showroom before you decide.
Products and servicesQuarried
- Granite
- Hard, speckled or sweeping, and different in every block. It takes a high polish and wants sealing now and then.
- Marble
- The soft veining everyone recognises. It marks where lemon juice or wine sits on it, which some people love and some cannot live with.
- Quartzite
- A natural stone with movement close to marble and a harder surface. The name is one letter from quartz and the material is not the same thing.
- Soapstone
- Dense, matte and soft to the hand. It darkens with use, and a scratch can be sanded out.
Made
- Quartz
- Engineered from ground stone and resin, so the pattern is consistent from one end of the run to the other and it needs no sealing.
- Porcelain
- A thin, fired slab in a large format. The pattern sits on the surface, which matters when you choose an edge.
We also sell sinks, in stainless steel and custom porcelain, and cut a variety of edge profiles.
How a job runs
Nothing is cut until every variable is nailed down.
Those are a customer’s words, not ours, and they are the whole method. You choose the slab, we give you a free estimate, and we measure. Then the stone is cut and edged in the shop and set by our installers.
